For over a year and a half now I have been interning for a designer named Meagan Kelly. Meagan is designer and creator of Meagan Kelly Designs & is also one of the most talented women I have ever met. I was fortune enough to be hired by Meagan as her design intern and assist her in bringing her beautiful designs to life.
As a design intern I do everything from meeting with brides to fulfill all of their wants and needs, designing the dresses, making patterns, and constructing the gowns. During my internship Meagan has served much more as a mentor than a boss. Instead of telling me to do something, she will teach me first and take the time to make sure I am learning, not just working. As a result I have grown tremendously in my skills and knowledge of apparel design. Minoring in Communication has also been very helpful in my position to work with clients and vendors. We are currently working to grow our presence on social media and use it to brand the company better.
Working in bridal design has been a dream of mine since I was a little girl, and every day at work is like a dream come true. It has been such an incredible experience to work with Meagan and help brides in creating their dream dress. Upon graduation I hope to continue working with Meagan as a freelance designer and further help her grow Meagan Kelly Designs.
