As I have mentioned in several other blog post, I work for an amazing company called MieszkoArt (please check out my other post to learn more!!) In working for MieszkoArt, my primary job is to design products using Mieszko's art.
As the Holidays are approaching it can be difficult to find creative and thoughtful gifts. Many people struggle with finding the right gift for the right person, along with something that will stand out from the rest. I am excited to announce that MieszkoArt will soon be releasing a beautiful collection of new products! The collection is focused around 5 of Mieszko's art pieces. Each piece features a very unique design with a vibrant color scheme:
Each of these pieces will be available in several different products, tote bags, coffee mugs, accessory pouches, etc. Each product has been carefully planned and thought out to best showcase Mieszko's art, while providing a useful product for the consumer.
In the process of designing the products I meet with Jon and Kate (Mieszko's parents) and we discuss colors, designs, products, and create a plan of what will sell best along with what pieces to use. From there I carefully edit and adjust scans of Mieszko's art to get the strongest colors and and designs for each specific product. When designing a product I have to take into account the dimensions and sizing, so that it will accurately fit into the print area when the product is bring produced. This step is essential because if the dimensions are off even the slightest, it can change the entire look of a product. Once I have the sizing correct, I will adjust and crop the picture to get specific parts for specific products. I have learned that images look different on every product so it's important to take time to find which image is best for the product.
With MieszkoArt we use a company called Gooten, which produces and manufactures all of our products. Gooten is a great company for smaller start ups such as MieszkoArt, because they have a large variety of products that companies can choose from to to print on.
Once I have completed my design file, I will upload it onto Gooten's website and make sure it looks correct on their mock up generator. From there I can choose the quantity I want along with placing the order.

Currently MieszkoArt products are available locally in Boone at Stick Boy, High Country Yoga, and Art Mart. We are also in the process of launching our Etsy store so products will be available online!
